Fatal gang clash trial
PA Napier The Napier trial of 18 Mongrel Mob members and associates, allegedly parties to a fatal gang clash in Wairoa last October, moved outdoors yesterday. The jury went to the town to view sites which were involved in the case. The trial relates to incidents in the main street of Wairoa last October 8 which resulted in the deaths of two cousins, John Rewi Ranginui and John Hoani Ranginui,
from gunshot wounds. Before the court are: Rangi Wainohu Tamati, aged 27, Michael Mikaere Clark, 25, Theodore Pryce Ruawai, 26, Wayne Ross Hema, 24, Dixon Ngatai Kahika, 27, John Kainga Edwards, 22, Tamihana Dalray Franklin Hubbard, 23, Beauman Les Paul, 22, Matua Ropiha, 24, Vincent Abraham Mikaera, 21, Johnson William McClutchie, 17, Eugene Lucas Semmens, 17, Whanga Wamoana, 17, all of Wairoa: Milton 1 lan
Wesche, 25, of Opoutama; Wiremu Parekura Raroa, 22, Riki John Raroa, 23, Phillip Henare, 22, Steven Layton Michaelsen, 17, all of Nuhaka. Also headed for Wairoa were most of the 21 lawyers involved in the trial which is in its third day of an expected five weeks of proceedings. The party was expected to visit the Marine Par-ade-Locke Street area — scene of the confrontation. The case is proceeding.
