Threat ‘posturing’
The Air Line Pilots’ Association said Ansett’s threat to pull out of New Zealand was little more than “political posturing.”
The association’s vicepresident, Captain Geoff Ogilvie, called the airline’s recent threats to the Government “just scare tactics.”
Ansett’s chief executive,
Mr John Buchanan, will meet the Prime Minister, Mr Lange, today, and the pilots’ association expects to hear from the airline immediately afterwards.
The association asked the airline to be kept informed of developments because the recent war of words had worried some members.
