in Wellington The National Party has a new secretary-general, Mrs Cindy Flook, of Wellington. She replaces Mr Max Bradford, who was forced to resign two months ago after criticism from within National made it impossible for him to continue to run the Hannibal computer and software systems he had introduced.
Mrs Flook w'as general manager and then national development director of one of New Zealand’s leading law firms — Kensington Swan. The party’s president. Mr Neville Young, said she had extensive knowledge of computer operations. strategic planning and proven professional managerial ability.
All these skills would be put to full use in the build-up to National's campaign to win the 1990 General Election, he said. Mrs Flook has already worked for the National party. She was executive officer at party headquarters between 1980 and 1985, when Mr Barrie Leay was secretary-gen-eral. She is a member of the British Institute of Management and of the British Computer Society, and holds a post-graduate diploma in management studies.
“We are delighted to have Mrs Flook join the National Party team — she won her place from a very strong field of candidates,” Mr Young said.
