Pub party tragedy
PA Wellington A dispute over a purse preceded the death of a Scottish tourist, aged 23, whose body was found in a central Wellington alley on Monday evening, hours before she was due to fly home, the police said. Minutes before, the woman had been in the thick of a goinghome party in the 1860 Tavern. Things went sour when the deceased suspected another woman, whom she did not know, had taken her purse. Within minutes a tussle had broken out on The Terrace, involving about five men and four women. A woman will appear in court today on a manslaughter charge.
