Mr John Mechen, a clerk for McCrostie’s Fine Art Auctions, sitting at a 10-piece, heavily carved dining suite in Eastern design at the Horticultural Hall yesterday. Mr Mechen was helping to prepare the hall for an auction of fine arts and antiques tomorrow. The dining suite, which dates from the beginning of this century, is expected to fetch at least $l000 at the auction. The 579 items in the auction are on display at the Horticultural Hall today.
