The Rangi Ruru Girls School Reunion brought together old girls from around the country. The celebrations kicked off with a parade which wasn’t exactly fashion — uniforms through the century were paraded
in the Christchurch Town Hall, arousing memories, groans and a lot of laughter from the crowd. Later in the week, it was time for the gala event, the dinner ball. A huge crowd gathered in a mar-
quee on the school hockey field for a night of fun, food, dancing and nostalgia. Dress, naturally, was formal. It was also innovative, and many went for the 20s look.
Now, the crowds are gone and Rangi Ruru is getting down to business — and the next 100 years.
