Ballantynes launched its new range of Fletcher Jones clothing in late March with a series of in-store parades.
The clothes are classically tailored, ideal for a working wardrobe, and concentrate on tweeds and checks in pure wool. They are aimed at a wide range of age groups, with varying skirt lengths and degrees of conservatism. Short Chanel-style jackets or teamed with shorter skirts, long-line jackets with full skirts, and nippedwaist jackets with full skirts. The menswear range is businesslike, conservative, but interesting, mixing traditional lines with slightly more unusual fabrics.
