Mrs Alison Dowson, of Christchurch, the president of Inner Wheel International, a group formed by the wives of Rotarians. Mrs Dowson was preparing to leave for England on Saturday to attend a conference of Inner Wheel groups from England and Ireland. She is the first president of Inner Wheel International from New Zealand. On Friday she attended the launching of the Inner Wheel Christchurch West club. After the conference in England, Mrs Dowson will visit Inner Wheel clubs in Denmark.
