Chch teams start well in volleyball
Christchurch teams made flying starts to the southern zone men’s and women’s volleyball leagues in Pioneer Stadium at the week-end. The Shirley and Pioneer teams accounted for the top Dunedin teams, Vikings and Scorpions. The Shirley men were most impressive and displayed a high degree of skill, while the women’s “big three,” Pioneer, Aranui Smash and Shirley, all achieved maximum points and scored easy wins. Results.—
