rnH INLAND REVENUE II M TE TARI TAKKE REGIONAL CONTROLLER (CENTRAL REGION) The Regional Controller of the Central Region of Inland Revenue is responsible to the Commissioner/Chief Executive of the department for the: • Oversight and co-ordination of the work of 6 district offices in the lower North Island to ensure that the outputs are delivered in terms of the department’s new corporate planning and management system. • Advising the Commissioner, primarily through membership of the Management Board, on the strategic direction of IRD, and the defining and measuring of results. Inland Revenue is undergoing major restructuring to bring its management systems up to the best international standards. Included in this is the introduction of the most modern technology. We are seeking someone who: • Is a proven senior manager with experience across a range of activities; and • has a sound knowledge of the taxation legislation and its practical implementation; and • has a sound knowledge of contemporary management practices and issues; and • has a relevant tertiary qualification. The Regional Office is located in central Wellington and relocation expenses may be paid. As part of the Public Service Senior Executive Service the Regional Controller will be contracted for a period of up to 5 years. The salary will reflect the level of contribution expected.
