Show judges are dedicated
Judges are an important part of an agricultural and pastoral show and many travel hundreds of kilometres on the autumn circuit, often having to leave home early in the morning to ensure ail classes are judged. This year most of the Oxford show judges are from the North Canterbury and Christchurch area, but others will travel from Outram, the Rakaia Gorge and Ashburton.
A feature of teh judg-
ing this year is a special guest, Miss Rosemary Phillipson-Stow, who will judge the hunter events. Miss Phillipson-Stow is from Worstershire, England, and is visiting the district.
She breeds Red Poll cattle, Welsh ponies and riding ponies at her Pendock Stud. Miss Philiip-son-Stow also exports ponies to Canada, South Africa, America, Australia and New Zealand. She is also a very keen hunter.
