Public Notices FIRE RESTRICTIONS CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL NOTICE is hereby given that pursuant to the Christchurch City Bylaw No. 119 Clause 5, the lighting of fires in the open is prohibited from and including April 1, 1989, until Sunday, April 30,1989, in those parts of the City of Christchurch to the South and east of the Heathcote River/ Cashmere Stream including Sumner, Redcliffs and the hillside suburbs of the City. Please Note: (1) The restriction does not apply to hangis and barbecues provided all other conditions of the bylaws are complied with. (2) Copies of the relevant bylaws are available from the City Health Department, 163 Tuam Street. (3) Although the restriction does not apply to the city side of the Heathcote River, the co-operation of all residents is sought to minimise the dangers from outdoor fires at all times.
