Problems dog shuttle

NZPA-Reuter Cape Canaveral Saturday’s scheduled launch of the United States space shuttle Discovery has been postponed for at least two days after test failure of an essential electronic part, space agency officials said yesterday. A National Aeronautics and Space Administration spokeswoman, Ms Lisa Malone, said crews would need time to replace a failed master events controller, one of two aboard the shuttle, which execute commands received by the main computer. Discovery had originally been scheduled to lift off on February 23, but the launch was delayed to March 11 due to engine problems found on its sister ship, Atlantis.
