Trawler hit by N-sub?

A trawler which vanished mysteriously in the Irish Sea may have been hit by a nuclear submarine in spite of denials by Coast Guards, a protest group said yesterday. A Labour Member of Parliament also questioned how Coast Guards could be sure there were no submarines in the area, which he described as the Bermuda Triangle for fishermen. A search for the trawler, the 145-ton Belgian vessel Tijl Uilenspiegel, began after the body of one of the five crew was found 48km west of Blackpool. Yesterday the search was extended to “a couple of thousand square miles” but nothing had been found except small pieces of wreckage, according to Liverpool Coast Guards.
