Blast shakes Port Vila The police last evening were investigating what was believed to be a bomb blast which shook the outskirts of Vanuatu’s capital, Port Vila. The single explosion occurred about 9 p.m. New Zealand time. The blast was felt by tourists at several resort hotels near Port Vila. There were no reports of damage. Police seek veteran The New Brighton police are still looking for a Vietnam war veteran who went missing on Monday morning. Mr lan George Bradshaw was last seen in Aranui. He is European, 1.9 m tall, of solid build, and has brown hair and blue eyes. Anyone seeing Mr Bradshaw is asked to call the New Brighton police. Storm damages Q.E.2 About 20 passengers were injured and thousands of dollars damage caused when the luxury liner Queen Elizabeth 2 was hit by a storm on Monday, said a spokesman for the liner. Sliding windows smashed and pot plants overturned when the ship rolled for eight hours in 12m seas as it approached 1 the coast. The 1400passenger ship arrived in Auckland yesterday with rooms needing repairs. Passengers suffered bumps and grazes and six crew suffered minor injuries.—PA Award settled Childworkers in 100 childcare centres throughout New Zealand yesterday settled their consenting parties award. The employers agreed to a shortened term of the award and will renegotiate wages and conditions with the union before January 1, 1990, when the Government’s new funding systems and levels will be implemented PA Fog disrupts flight Fog at Christchurch Airport yesterday morning caused a Mount Cook flight to be diverted to Wellington. The flight from Queenstown was bound for Christchurch where passengers were due to board another Air New Zealand flight to Auckland. The fog meant the flight was diverted about 7.20 a.m. to Wellington. Passengers were then placed on an Air New Zealand flight to Auckland.
