Hospital Bd Appointments THE MARLBOROUGH AREA HEALTH BOARD WAIRAU HOSPITAL - BLENHEIM VISITING NEURODEVELOPMENTAL THERAPIST APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED from suitably qualified New Zealand Registered Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists for the position of Visiting Neurodevelopment Therapist based at Wairau Hospital, Blenheim. The appointee must have a minimum of three years relevant experience of which one year should have been in paediatrics. He/she should have undergone or be prepared to undertake Visiting Therapist training. The primary objectives of the Visiting Therapist are to guide, support and aid in the development of children aged 0-7 years in the home and/or school environment who have or who are at risk for developmental disability and physical impairment. This position is part-time (20 hours per week), however, a full-time appointment may be made which would include general duties within the Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy Departments. Students will usually study Chinese language for the first year, while during the second year students may study specialist courses, such as Chinese literature, history, philosophy, political economics and archaeology at an appropriate tertiary Institution. Applicants should: — Be citizens/permanent residents of New Zealand. — Be mature and adaptable. — Have a proven language ability, or a background In Asian studies, or an interest in Chinese Studies. — Be intent on pursuing a career in New Zealand to which study in China is relevant. Successful applicants may not be accompanied by spouses or families.
