Judge us by the company we keep! When the top 100 wines of the world were chosen by the highly regarded U.S. Wine Spectator magazine, the world’s most famous winemaking names were included. Names like Margaux, Lafite-Rothschild, Latour, Dom Perignon, Mondavi . . . and Corbans. We joined the ranks of the world’s top producers when our 1986 Export Marlborough Chardonnay was judged to be in the top 100 following a review of over 3,000 of the finest wines available in the U.S. during 1988. And, Corbans was the only New Zealand winemaker to make the list! Whilst Chardonnay is recognised internationally as the most prestigious white grape variety, only 7 of the 26 white wines included in the list were Chardonnay. Interestingly, no Australian Chardonnay was selected! Proof yet again that in the world of wine Corbans is the leading New Zealander. And in great company with the world’s best.
