Boock apologises
One apology was made to the umpires during the Eden Park cricket test.
It was not, as might have been expected, by a Pakistan player, nor for an on-field incident. The New Zealand left-arm spin bowler, Stephen Boock, expressed regret at comments he made in the umpires’ room after he had been given out on Sunday afternoon. Boock apologised to the umpires, Steve Woodward and Brian Aldridge, at the request of the New Zealand coach, Bob Cunis. “I don’t think it was a big thing, not compared with one or two other things that happened,” said Mr Cunis yesterday. “There was no official complaint from the umpires. I got to hear about it and sorted it out,” he said.
