Govt seeks input on electrical industry
PA Wellington The Government is seeking submissions from people interested in the future ownership, structure and regulation of the electricity industry. The submissions will help the electricity task force to prepare a report for the Government, which will then decide whether, and how, to sell the Electricity Corporation assets and to reform local supply authorities.
The task force has re-
leased an issues and options paper and a number of reports will be available to help people to make submissions.
The closing date is April 14, and the task force will report to the Government later that month. The task force was established in May last year to review the industry including generation and transmission which is mainly undertaken by Electricorp and 60 local supply authorities.
