The Clyde dam is only a matter of months away from completion and will be capable of producing power by the end of the year. Only the central blocks of the dam structure have to be brought to crest height and the last of the generators is being installed in the power house (situated in front of the dam). It will take three months to flood the area, creating Lake Dunstan, beginning in late July or early August. Princess Anne will visit the dam on March 4 and an open day will be held for the public on the following day. —Photograph by DAVID WETHEY.
