Shipbrokers for sale
PA Auckland Construction company Wilkins and Davies is selling its subsidiary Wilkins and Davies Shipbrokers. Wilkins and Davies’ director, Mr Des Mataga, said Shipbrokers was a very small operation relative to the size of the parent company. He would not disclose the price, saying only that it depended on what assets were included in the sale. He said negotiations were in pro-
gress with New Zealand interests. Shipbrokers’ manager Ted Bland said the company imported Beneteau yachts from France and had “an ongoing agreement” with the supplier. Wilkins and Davies yesterday told the Stock Exchange it did not know why its share quotations were "sharply lower”. The buy and sell quotes on Thursday closed at 13c and 19c respectively, much lower than the last sale price of 70c.
