CYCLING Graeme Miller, of Auckland, had a successful evening at the track cycling meeting at Denton Park on Wednesday evening. He was in the city on route to the national championships in Invercargill. Miller won the 1000 m handicap, from the scratch mark, won the devil take the hindmost and was second in the 8000 m scratch race. There were no breakaways in the 8000 m, and the pace was fast throughout. In a large group sprint in the final lap Russell Ownsworth managed to hold Miller to the line. William Rastrick and Jon Andrews both showed improving form in the shorter races and each won an event. Results. — A grade.— 1000 m handicap: G. Miller (scr) 1, C. Nicholson (30m) 2, R.
