The modem, high-technology plant facilities are located at Seafield, ■ Ashburton, and the Head Office team is based in Christchurch. Current annual turnover is $9O million. ■ The following positions arise from the continuing expansion of the business, with extended shift work ■ requiring a substantial increase in the work-force later this year to number in excess of 500. I PERSONNEL OFFICER — Ashburton ■ The role of Personnel Officer is newly created to oversee the employment of all workforce personnel at ■ the Seafield plant. ■ In reporting to the Works Manager, key responsibilities include: ■ • Ensuring workforce levels are attained on each department shift throughout the plant, and assisting with ■ induction training for new staff. ■ • Administering procedures and systems to ensure personnel records are adequately maintained. ■ • Overseeing safety requirements on the plant, and maintaining soundly based industrial relations through ■ liaison with union representatives. I The position will be best suited to a person experienced in administering the personnel function within H a significant manufacturing operation. The appointee will be expected to become fully familiar with current ■ award and in-house provisions at an early stage. I LIVESTOCK CO-OR DINATOR - Timaru I The position is newly created to complement the company's field staff in contributing to the full utilisation ■ of allocated slaughter space. I Key responsibilities include: ■ • Allocating slaughter space to mercantile agent firms. ■ • Some drafting of lamb and deer. ■ • Liaising with farmer clientele in continuing to develop the image of the company in the area. ■ • Planning livestock flow for off-season slaughter. I The position will be best suited to people having full competence in lamb buying, and who would enjoy ■ a role offering both autonomy and the scope to influence Head Office decision making. I EXPORT MARKETING ASSISTANT — Chch I Recent Graduate (BAgComm/BAgSc) I I This exceptional opportunity arises from the advancement of the incumbent to a senior export marketing I ■ role. 1 I In reporting to the Marketing Manager, responsibilities will include: 1 I • Scheduling plant production according to market needs.
