Sir,—l was pleased to read your outspoken editorial on the Bush techniques. As you say, it makes the National Party look desperate. This is even more so when, to quote Mr Bolger: “If the National Party are returned to office they will go back to A.N.Z.U.S.” A.N.Z.U.S. is a dummy agreement which was only intended as a latch-lifter into the Commonwealth for America’s own devious purposes. Yes, I think the National Party must think again before putting another nail in its own coffin, silly hats and all.—Yours, etc., WILLIAM FLECKNOE. February 3, 1989.
