Dancers to study in Aust.
Two Christchurch ballet dancers, Matthew Woodley, aged 16, and Sally Rentoul, aged 18, who have been accepted as students at the Australian Ballet School in Melbourne. Both dancers are pupils of a Christchurch ballet teacher, Mrs Ann Judson, and will be starting their Australian study on Monday. Optimistic but realistic, the dancers understand the competitiveness of the international ballet world but are keen to become professional dancers. They see the Australian Ballet School as a great place to train with excellent facilities and many performance
opportunities. Miss Rentoul has just completed her first year of medicine at the University of Canterbury, and Mr Woodley left Middleton Grange School last year to devote himself fully to ballet training. He will spend three years at the Australian Ballet School and Miss Rentoul has been accepted into the third year graduation class.
