$58,000 fraud alleged
PA Auckland A Greek citizen extradited from Sydney has denied fraud charges involving more than $58,000. Panagiotis Iliou, aged 31, appeared before Judge Augusta Wallace in the District Court in Auckland. He has pleaded not guilty to charges of obtaining $40,000 by claiming that metal bars were 18-carat gold and with fraudulently obtaining $18,698. Iliou was remanded to February 9.
