Aussie soap ‘awful’

The actress Wendy Richard, the moody and harassed Pauline Fowler in “East Enders admits she is a life-long soapopera fan.
But one show she cannot stand is Australia’s “Neighbours.” “I have only ever watched ‘Neighbours’ once. It was so awful, I couldn’t be bothered to tune in again,” she told the “Daily Mirror” in London. Another turn-off for the actress was “Cell Block H,” also from Australia.
But Richard told the “Mirror” she could not help turning it on. “It’s so bad, it’s hilariously funny. I watch it late at night, just for the laughs,” she said. "Coronation Street” was one of her favourite television shows.
