Air Nauru to look elsewhere
PA Auckland The Nauru Government says it will look for another country to issue airworthiness certificates for its three 737 s grounded by New Zealand’s aviation officials. The president of Nauru, Mr Hammer deßoburt, will not say who the replacement might be, only that the grounded Air Nauru airline aims to be back in business within two months
New Zealand civil aviation authorities say Air Nauru cannot land in Auckland until it has an airworthir'ss certificate that meets their approval. The Ministry of Transport’s aviation standards controller, Mr Barry Cranston, said yesterday of Nauru’s move: “If that’s what they want to do, that’s what they can do.” Mr Cranston said that, meantime, Air Nauru could not land here
