Vessel under tow
PA Wellington The fisheries research vessel James Cook is on its way to Nelson after being towed from the Chatham Islands, a Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries spokesman says. The vessel broke down while completing a survey of orange roughy near the islands and another Ministry vessel the Kaharoa was diverted from Wellington to tow her back. A replacement for the James Cook’s broken propeller pitch control shaft will have to be brought from Norway or made here, the spokesman said.
