NZPA-AAP Melbourne West Indies had an over-all lead of 107 runs with nine second-innings wickets in hand and* two days to play at stumps on the third day of the third cricket test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground yesterday. After dismissing Australia for 242 in reply to its 280, the tourists reached 69 for one at stumps. The opener, Gordon Greenidge, still searching for his first test century in Australia, was on 25 and Richie Richardson on 17. Australia resumed from 121 for four and the tail wagged after Curtly Ambrose reduced the Austra-
lians to 190 for eight. Craig McDermott, 28, and Merv Hughes, 21 not out, hit out lustily late in the innings while Ambrose and Patrick Patterson finished with four wickets each.
