Big year for gifts
NZPA-Reuter Tokyo Japanese companies spent a record 4186 billion yen (SNZSI billion) in 1987 entertaining and giving gifts to business contacts, the national tax agency said. The figure was 6 per cent up on a year earlier, according to an agency survey of 56,062 companies. The companies spent an average of 4.6 yen (6c) a 1000 yen (SNZI2) of revenue. .
