ABOVE: This little cross-breed, named Humphrey, was walking with his owner recently when a German shepherd rushed out of a property, sank his teeth into his rear and shook him up and down. Humphrey was left with three deep wounds, one of which became infected and swollen, causing a lot of discomfort. The infection was finally cleared up with antibiotic treatment. LEFT: Big dogs sometimes see small dogs as fair game. Dogs liable to attack need to be properly restrained. This German shepherd looks fierce enough to repel any would-be burglar, yet cannot harm anyone or any animal going past because of the fence and gate.
