Children blast window
The Rotorua police found a rifle and two hysterical children in a car that had its rear window blasted out, at Mamaku yesterday. Senior-Sergeant Daye Donaldson said it appeared the pair, aged four and five, were left alone in the car with the firearm and a loaded magazine. The police later charged a man with carelessly leaving a firearm where youngsters had access to it, and possessing a firearm without a licence.—PA.
