Festival to benefit hospital

This year’s Motueka arts and wine festival aims to help raise some of the $1.5 million needed to buy the Nelson Public Hospital a CT scanner. The festival, to be held on January 2 from 11 a.m., is in its sixth year. The venue is the Riwaka recreation ground, just north of Motueka. In addition to the wine and juice tasting, food stalls and arts and craft displays, the festival organisers, the Moteuka Altrusa Club, has booked the top New Zealand country and western band, The Warratahs, to entertain. Other entertainers, for adults and children, will perform.
