Rangiora inquiries
Dale Soal, the trainer of Royal Dell, was fined $5O at the Rangiora Harness Racing Club’s meeting on Saturday for his horse appearing late in the birdcage. Loch Rannoch, which broke at the start of the D.B. Draught Handicap and took no part, has
been declared unruly from standing starts only. His stablemate, Beau Peer, which also took no part in the same race after a similar bad beginning, was declared ineligible to race again until he trials to the satisfaction of the stewards on one occasion. The committee took into account the unavailability of trails over the Christmas period. Natural Appeal, which broke in the T. L. Scurr and Sons Pace, has been stood down from standing starts only until she trials on two occasions. The connections of Royal Flier, fifth in the P.G.G. Coronet Turf Ryegrass Mobile Pace, were granted permission to race this horse at Westpoint without a boring pole.
