Ravinella sold for record sum
Ravinella, the winner of the French and English Two Thousand Guineas earlier in the year was sold for a record 1,400,000 guineas at a Tattersall’s sale in England last week. Ravinella was bought by the large-scale American owner and breeder, Allen Paulson, who intends to race her in the new season.
Mr Paulson owned Palace Music and Dahar, stallions which were sold
to New Zealand interests last year, and he also owns Strawberry Road.
Ravinella claims as her third dam the Australianbred mare Reveille. Her fourth dam went through the Trentham sale ring in the 1940 s and failed to attract a bid.
Her selling price is 400,000 guineas more than for any previous three-year-old filly sold at a Tattersalls sale.
