Airline publicity man resigns

Air New Zealand’s public affairs manager, Mr Ken Morton, has resigned after barely a year with the airline. He intends moving to Sydney to set up a public relations consultancy. Mr Morton originally lived in Sydney where he
was the Australian-based public relations representative of British Airways. In 1986 he transferred to the airline’s head office at Heathrow as a senior member of B.A.’s public affairs department. He took up his position with Air New Zealand on November 9 last year.
During his short time with the airline, Mr Morton earned widespread respect from journalists ; involved in the industry for his honesty and in-' depth briefings. ; Mr Morton will remain with the airline until the i end of January. No decii sion has been made on his replacement.
