Richards to miss Tapanui meeting
PA Dunedin Paul Richards has passed up several rides at Tapanui Racing Club’s meeting on Saturday to stay with Prince Kumai at the Canterbury meeting the same day. Prince Kumai looked in solid order at Wingatui yesterday morning when he worked over a round on the sand and quickened over the last 600 m in 40.3. Prince Kumai will be accompanied to Riccarton by the two-year-old Taw-
ley, which has been seen to advantage at trials. She is a filly by Tawfiq from Darnley Flight, which ran some of her best races at Riccarton.
Dark Legend, which resumes racing at Tapanui, ran 1000 m with Bright Prelude in 1:05.7, the last 800 m in 52.8 and the 600 m in 39.7.
Tasty Morsel and The Son sprinted 600 in 38.6.
Taciturn has been returned to her Lochiel owners for a spell after jarring up badly in a gallop last Thursday.
