Canty bowlers in fine form

Canterbury representative bowlers had a magnificent week-end in quadrangular tournaments, winning everything in sight and completing the best result in the tournaments for a number of years. In the senior tournament, held at Oamaru, Canterbury won all the trophies available. The trophies gained were the Jolly Trophy for over-all winner; the Redpath Trophy against Dunedin; the Steens Cup from South Canterbury; and the Barrett Tiki versus North Otago. The juniors were pushed closer than the seniors, winning from South Canterbury by 509 points to 494, after tieing games each. Canterbury drew with North Otago, 4-4, with the games scores being 166 to 159. It beat South Canterbury 4J6 to 31/2. 185 points to 150 and beat* Dunedin 5-3, 158 points to 164.

The senior team beat Dunedin, the points score being 143-146. Against South Canterbury, it won easily, 6-2, the points margin being 198 to 142. North Otago was dispatched equally easily, five games to three and a massive 182 points to 126.
