Greyhounds Roaming Grace due for a just reward
Roaming Grace should be rewarded for some good efforts over the testing 805 m when she com tests the Bower Egg Farm Stakes at the Christchurch Greyhound Racing Club’s on-course totalisator meeting at Queen Elizabeth II Park this evening. The Ron Faass-owned and trained brindle bitch has been run down over the concluding stages of her last two 805 m appearances by crack northern stayer, Steiny Blue, but Roaming Grace steps down a grade here, and must rate as a leading prospect. Lindara Lass is another with good place form at Q.E. II Park over the extreme journey, and there are few better finishers around than this well-travelled brindle bitch. Apart from Roaming Grace and Lindara Lass, the others in this field are not proven distance performers and there will be an interesting contest in store, with both Kaytee Bee and Quick Surrender appealing the most. Magic Command scored in impressive fashion at Forbury Park last week and it appears that the champion black dog is nearing his peak. If this is the case he should have little trouble in the Plains FM Radio Stakes. Call Me Grace was a disappointing sixth in the New Zealand Championship Final in her last start on November 10, and an improved effort can be expected from her.
