Little to beat Mini 7

For large fields and close racing there is little to beat the appeal of Mini 7 racing. With average fields of over twenty cars, traffic is tight and there has been plenty of overtaking in the races to date this season. While there is little to

choose between the top half a dozen drivers, a former front runner in the O.S.C.A. class, Avon Hyde, has been in astounding form in the races to date and will be keen to establish his advantage over the rest at Ruapuna on Sunday. Hyde has had many years of racing experience at Ruapuna and the Mini 7 class has proven an ideal showcase of his ability, but the rest of the field will be out to head him off on Sunday. Those most likely to succeed include the current champion, John Hamilton, a former champion, Steve Jones, Jeff Brook and Peter Black. A novelty in the Mini 7 class is the grid draw, with each competitor being allocated a front, middle and rear of the grid starting position
