Cornucopia
An ensemble celebrating the glorious sonorities and harmonies of massed French horns makes its debut this week. Eight of Christchurch’s most talented horn players will present a variety of French horn music, from hunting horn duets and quartets from the French court to a modern American suite for horn octet. The ensemble will be joined by soprano Dinah Wright and pianist Jocelyn McCurdy for an item for voice, piano and horn by Berlioz and the larger items will be conducted by Mark Hodgkinson. The concert will be held in the Great Hall of the Arts Centre at 1.10 p.m. on Friday, as part of the Amuri Corporation’s lunchtime recital series.
