Firearm alert
The police cordoned part of Riccarton last evening after receiving a report that a firearm had been discharged by Riccarton Road near the railway line. The police also had a
report that a man had been seen in the area carrying a firearm. A man was later found by the police but no firearms were found. Inquiries were continuing early today.
