Croquet leader loses
Auckland’s Bob Jackson brought off the win of the day in the New Zealand men’s invitation croquet tournament in Hagley Park yesterday. He beat the tournament leader, John Prince, 26-0, and finished with a triple peel. The Canterbury player had only one shot at a ball after his opening. But Prince bounced back with a 26-10 defeat of Graham Beale. Results: R. J. Murfitt (Canterbury) 26, S. Jones (Wellington) 18; R. V. Jackson (Auckland) 26 (triple peel), J. G.
