Obituary Mr F. de Malmanche
Mr Frederick Henry Thomson de Malmanche, a former New Zealand High Commissioner to India, has died in Auckland. He was 88.
Mr de Malmanche was born in Christchurch and later moved to Dunedin and Wellington as an employee of Charles Haines Advertising, Ltd.
He moved to Auckland in 1930 as the company’s managing director, a post he held until his retirement about 1961.
Mr de Malmanche was an Auckland City councillor during the early 1960 s and served as High Commissioner to India in 1963 and 1964.
He was a past president of the Association of Advertising Agencies of New Zealand and was a former president of the Auckland Rotary Club.
Mr de Malmanche was a descendant of the first French settlers who arrived at Akaroa in the Comte de Paris in August, 1840.
