PA Wellington The Leader of the House, Mr Hunt, successfully sought leave for Parliament to discuss estimates today, when the House sat at 2 p.m. yesterday. Mr M. S. McCully (Nat., East Coast Bays) presented the petition of F. G. Milner and 597 others calling on Parliament to require Telecom not to proceed with its proposed increase in telephone rentals. Mr R. W. Prebble (Lab., Auckland Central) presented the petition of the New Zealand Guardian Trust Company, Ltd, asking for leave to introduce the New Zealand Guardian Trust Company Amendment Bill. Leave was granted and the bill set down for introduction today.
