Politicians in radio changes
PA Hamilton Two of Hamilton’s controversial political personalities are involved in sweeping changes at Radio Pacific.
The former mayor and member of Parliament, Mr Mike Minogue, has become a talk-back host and the former deputy mayor, Mrs Margaret
Evans, has been sacked from her job in programming.
The changes were confirmed yesterday by the station manager, Chris Parkinson.
Mr Minogue’s 9 a.m. to noon slot, which starts next Monday, brings him back into a spotlight after losing the Hamilton West
parliamentary seat in the 1984 snap election. Mrs Margaret Evan’s job loss is the second big blow for her this year. She was sacked from the deputy mayoralty in March in a council reshuffle.
Cr Evans learned yesterday she was redundant and declined comment.
