Good-quality prices steady

Most good-quality stock showed little change in price at the Addington market yesterday. A notable exception was the pig market, which dropped up to $2O, wiping out the gains made at last week’s sale. Some exceptional prices were again paid for steers, with one sale reaching $lOBO. Prime lambs The sale of lambs was patchy yesterday, with prices seeming to improve slightly at times, but also dropping by up to $2 for some lines. A steer from Mrs J. Hopkinson, Kaiapoi, made $lOOO. Heifers again had a very’ good sale, with some better stock making $2.15 a kg. A total of 489 cattle was yarded, compared with 393 last week.
