Sock shock
PA Auckland A young boy was taken to hospital after he was lifted six metres into the air by a windsock and then fell to the ground during a kite day in Auckland.
Organisers of Sunday’s kite day in the Auckland Domain said the boy, aged either two or three, grabbed on to or became tangled in the tail of the 30m windsock. He was taken to Princess Mary Children’s Hospital. An organiser, Mr Colin McKay, said the boy was not seriously hurt. The hospital would not give details of his condition.
