Raw deal for S.I. seen
By KAY FORRESTER The South Island is getting a raw deal — what can we do about it?
Mrs Margaret Murray, president of the South Island Local Bodies’ Association, says that is the theme of the association’s conference at Alexandra.
The first meeting of the conference will be held this afternoon, but the conference proper is tomorrow and Thursday. Employment, services for the South Island, the power differential and South Island freight rates would be among issues raised at the conference, she said.
